Applicants to the course will be holders of an honours degree (grade 2.2 or higher), or equivalent, in Irish or in other disciplines who can demonstrate competence in Irish to at least level B1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. All applicants will be required to undergo a language assessment test Closing Date: 24 September 2008 Language Assessment Tests will take place on Saturday, 4 October 2008 in DIT Aungier Street, 11.00am - 1.00pm

Course contentThis new MA programme in Applied Irish is aimed at employees in the public sector who work or will work through the medium of Irish and at graduates to wish to take advantage of the employment opportunities which will be available in Ireland and in Europe in the years ahead.
The course will also be suitable for those who wish to work as translators, interpreters, lawyer-linguists, proofreaders and secretaries, and it will be of interest as well to teachers, journalists and those working in business and in cultural tourism.
