To join this MA you should have a degree equivalent to UK second class honours (2:2 or above) in a relevant subject. You will also need appropriate professional experience or a performance background. An interview and practical assessment may form part of the selection process.

The MA Making Performance is an exciting opportunity to discuss, explore and create performance in high standard professional facilities. The course examines practice as research, the development of creative projects, the creation of major work and the ways in which evaluation and analysis of performance can be undertaken. The programme is ideal for graduates, teachers, professional and semi-professional artists and individuals with suitable levels of performance experience and academic skill.

Fees and funding

Tuition fees for full-time study on this MA are £5,040 for UK and EU students and £12,750 for international students enrolling on the programme in academic year 2018/19.Tuition fees for part-time study on this MA are £28 per credit for UK and EU students enrolling on the programme in academic year 2018/19, i.e. £560 per 20 credit module.180 credits are required to complete a Masters degree.The University may administer a small inflationary rise in part-time postgraduate tuition fees in subsequent academic years as you progress through the course.

Assessment

You will be assessed through essay writing, creation of performance, and oral examination. You will also be encouraged to consider ways of presenting academic argument and analysis through media suitable for performance analysis including video, drawing and live events.
