Entry requirements

The entry requirement for this course is a Bachelor (Honours) Degree at a 2:2 or above, or equivalent. We look for candidates to have a background in Sport Science, Sport and Exercise Science, Coaching Science and Physiotherapy in order to be eligible for this programme.

We may also consider backgrounds in Physiology, Psychology, Physical Education, Sport Science, Sport & Exercise Science if the candidate can demonstrate a background in coaching/performance.

We may also consider lesser qualifications if you have sufficient relevant work experience within the industry.

The University does not sponsor students to study on part-time programmes in the UK under the Student Visa route. International Applicants must therefore have other valid immigration leave to study on this programme.

Course content

Develop specialist knowledge of the scientific principles underpinning sport and apply to the context of performance enhancement.

This course will give you expert knowledge in a specialist area of the science of sport performance. It will develop applied techniques which will help you pursue a career in sport science support, academic research, teaching or other science-based professions.

The applied focus of this course is supported by contemporary, well-equipped and supported laboratory facilities.

The course content is aligned to the requirements of supervised experience (SE) with the British Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences (BASES).
