A Mathematics degree (or equivalent) or in some circumstances, a related subject with some mathematics content, eg. engineering. GITEP is a unique collaboration between all the secondary schools in Gloucestershire and the University of Gloucestershire. GITEP offers PGCE, QTS, School Direct and School Direct Salaried routes into teaching.
Teaching starts at the 'Parent' placement school following a short period of Professional Studies. Trainees will return to this school in the summer term, having undertaken a 'Twin' placement during the spring term. Trainees work closely with a mentor in each school, learning and developing the skills of planning lessons, teaching and assessing students and how to maximise learning in Mathematics.
