Entry requirements

UK Honours degree 2:1 (or equivalent) in a subject containing a substantial proportion (about 30%) of human physiology and biochemistry We do not expect all our applicants to have visited a dietetic department but if you are fortunate enough to have experience of speaking with a dietitian or visiting a dietetic team, then it is appropriate to include this in your personal statement.

Course content

This programme aims to apply previous academic knowledge in physiology, biochemistry and other related subjects to the clinical setting and integrate this with nutrition and dietetics. The holistic nature of client care is reflected in the behavioural science elements of the programme, which allow =s for HPC (Health Professions Council) Registration in Dietetics. Consists of 1 year's academic study and 1 year's placement. Academic subjects include Nutrition and Dietetics; Physiology and Biochemistry; Behavioural Science and Food Science. Placement is 4 weeks' orientation followed by 2 X 12 weeks blocks of clinical training in an approved hospital.
