Our MSc International Tourism Management programme provides modern management skills and the specialist knowledge of international developments in the travel and tourism sectors to promote successful management careers in the tourism industry.

The international tourism sector is constantly changing with advances in destination management, heritage, place image, sustainability, events, sports and consumption. To stay ahead, organisations require innovative leaders who can manage industry change.

You will advance your knowledge in destination management and customer focused service as well as examining events and heritage management.

The Tourism Management Institute (TMI) is the professional body for destination management practitioners, with members drawn from all levels of the private and public sectors: national, regional, sub regional and local. As the destination management section of the Tourism Society, TMI seeks to support professional development within the sector, for potential entrants as well as existing practitioners.

Information for international students

Academic IELTS score of 6.0 (or equivalent) is required, with no element less than 5.5. If you do not meet the English language requirements, you may be eligible for the English for University Study programme. Scholarships available

Fees and funding

The Moffat Scholarship awards support students pursuing a career in the travel, tourism or events industries.. Awards of up to £3,600 are available to students studying on this programme at GCU.
