Entry requirements

This programme provides students with a flexible high quality approach to postgraduate learning which offers the potential for enhanced career progression within the food and health sectors and related industries. For MSc entry, candidates must have a First or Second Class Honours Degree in a suitable science or engineering subject (for example, Biological Sciences, Chemistry or Chemical/Mechanical Engineering). For Diploma entry, candidates must hold a degree, preferably at Honours level, but lesser qualifications, including substantial relevant work experience, will be considered.

Course content

Continued expansion of the food and drink sector has presented the industry with challenges both in meeting the increased demand for high quality, nutritionally sound, convenience products and in finding highly trained graduates with understanding of the emerging issues in food science, nutrition and health.

The Food Science and Nutrition programme aims to provide students with a broad range of both fundamental principles and innovative practices in the subject areas, so they may be able to apply their knowledge proficiently in the food and health sectors and in related industries.

The minimum requirement for English language is IELTS 6.5 or equivalent. We offer a range of English language courses to help you meet the English language requirement prior to starting your masters programme.
