Entry requirements

The programme will appeal to students from a variety of academic and employment backgrounds and our entry requirements reflect the potential diversity of our candidates. For MSc entry candidates must have a first or second class honours degree in a suitable science or engineering subject (for example Biological Sciences, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Chemistry of Chemical/Mechanical Engineering). For Diploma entry candidates must hold a degree preferably at honours level but lesser qualifications including substantial relevant work experience will be considered.

Course content

The MSc/PG Diploma programme in Biotechnology will provide students with a sufficiently broad range of both fundamental principles and innovative practices in the subject to be able to apply their knowledge proficiently in the relevant industries. The biotechnology industry is a diverse sector ranging from food and beverage production to the production of novel pharmaceuticals.
