Entry requirements

Honours degree (2nd class) in Physics or similar discipline, or equivalent qualification. A Masters level qualification (MSc, MSci, MPhys degree etc) is normally required to enter a PhD programme. Proficiency in English.

Course content

The department provides facilities in 9 research groups. The diversity of research activity and breadth of postgraduate training in physics is unique in the UK. Currently about 215 students are registered for the PhD.
