Entry requirements

Applicants should hold a first or second class honours degree in Islamic Studies or related fields. Consideration is also given to other qualifications on an individual basis. Applicants without a relevant undergraduate degree may be required to study a foundation course.

Course content

Our MA in Islamic Studies, validated by Middlesex University, offers students the opportunity to acquaint themselves with the core texts of Islam; the Islamic sciences and recent developments in the Muslim world; including the impact of modernity and the relationship between Islam and politics. This degree will be of use to anyone who wishes to pursue an academic career in Islamic Studies, whose work is related to Muslims or the Muslim world, or who have an interest in acquiring a deeper understanding of Islam and Muslim societies.

Information for international students

International students should have completed a suitable undergraduate qualification and have a minimum IELTS grade of 6.5 or equivalent.
