MSc RENE master programme is for outstanding students with an aboveaverage Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Chemical Engineering. Admission of students with a different background in a related field may be possible after careful assessment. To qualify for RENE, applicants need to fulfil the admission requirements related to previous studies.

MSc RENE has a unique focus on innovation and entrepreneurship in renewable energy. It is a cutting-edge programme with a holistic perspective. It aims to train the future game-changers in renewable energy; the researchers, engineers and entrepreneurs who will design and implement new services and products for energy providers, major manufacturers, business start-ups and public organizations worldwide.
As a student, you will study at two top technical universities and a world-class business school with the opportunity to carry out your master thesis through an internship at a leading company in renewable energy. The KIC InnoEnergy eco-system, which gives access to a creative environment with start-ups, energy companies and researchers, can be explored at networking events. Students clearly notice the involvement of the energy industry as guest lectures and workshops from start-ups and established companies, such as Total and EDF.
Fees and funding
For EU* Students
All EU students that are accepted to one of the programmes will receive a full participation fee waiver, courtesy of KIC InnoEnergy. This means that EU students do not need to pay participation fees.
For Non-EU* Students
The participation fee is 8000 €/year. If you are nominated for a scholarship as indicated below, the participation fee is waived.
They are not necessarily a full scholarship, and that it may be necessary to find additional funding to be able to fully finance study and stay. Costs related to events integrated in the curriculum are covered by the programme and included in the participation fee.
