Course content

This advanced medical training programme is designed exclusively for doctors wishing to develop research and evidence-based evaluation skills in clinical practice and leadership,as well as enhance their career opportunities.

Key benefits

• Participants can select one of eight different specialities, in which they will take half of their credits (alongside students on the MSc programmes in these areas): Addiction Studies, Affective Disorders, Children’s Health, Clinical Neuroscience, Development Psychology and Psychopathology, Haematology, Neuroscience and Women & Children's Health.
• The programme is highly flexible: Both January and September starts are available; it can be completed full-time over one year or part-time over two years, and half of the modules (in Research Skills and Clinical Leadership) can be completed entirely online.
• A number of buraries worth £1,000 are available, for which successful applicants to the programme will be automatically considered.
• The clinical leadership module is delivered by King’s Business School, a leading management teaching institution in London, and our Partner NHS Trusts.
• The teaching, delivered by internationally recognised researchers and clinicians, covers contemporary issues and is focused on translating research to improve clinical outcomes locally and globally.
• Participants will have access to the latest leading cutting edge technologies housed across King’s Health Partners Foundation NHS hospitals.
• The course will be beneficial to participants interested in developing a career in clinical trials, research and leadership.
• The 60 credits gained on the programme can be used towards one of a number of MSc programmes in the Faculty of Life Sciences & Medicine (including Addiction Studies MSc, Advanced Paediatrics MSc, Affective Disorders MSc, Clinical Neuroscience MSc, Developmental Psychology & Psychopathology MSc, Neuroscience MSc and Women & Children's Health MSc), subject to gaining admission and programme availability.
