Minimum 2:1 (or equivalent) undergraduate degree, in which philosophy will normally have been a major component.
Months of entry
Course contentYou will specialise in at least three areas, to be chosen from the lists below (no more than one of these should have been previously taken at BA level). You will also attend a weekly research methods seminar, and will normally complete a course in a relevant language, such as Latin or Greek, Arabic or Sanskrit, French or German. In addition, over the summer, you will write a dissertation on a topic in the history of philosophy.

Fees and fundingBritish and EU residents can apply for AHRC studentships. Some Graduate School and School of Arts & Humanities studentships and bursaries are also available. Departmental scholarships: Sorabji Graduate Bursary Fund (maximum £2,000, open to all students); Susan Stebbing Graduate Award (maximum £2,000, open to female students only).
