Applicants are expected to hold a good BA level degree in Economics or equivalent, with a high level of training achievement in core theory and quantitative elements.

Course content
The Integrated PhD consists of a year of MSc-level modules followed by the three years PhD in Economics Programme. Lancaster’s Department of Economics offers an active and stimulating research environment in which PhD students play an important part. As a PhD student in the Department you will be working within a high-quality, research-active environment and in a UK university with a world-class reputation for excellence in teaching and research. You will also participate fully in departmental activities such as seminars, workshops and conferences. We currently supervise around 25 students on our PhD programme in Economics.

Information for international students
IELTS: 7.0 or equivalent with a minimum of 6.5 in each classification. These language conditions will be waived for those students who have studied in English at university level in the UK or equivalent in the previous 24 months.
