Entry Criteria

You will need an upper second class honours or equivalent in the disciplines specified in the programmes (normally a GPA of at least 3.2 on a 4 point scale or b/B+ on a literal scale, depending on your country of study) to gain entry into our programmes. Some programmes may also require you to take a GMAT.

Studying at a masters level demands a high level of fluency in written and spoken English, together with excellent comprehension. For this reason we ask non-native English speakers to demonstrate their English language competency by taking an internationally recognised test. Our minimum requirements on these tests are typically:

  • IELTS 7.0, with at least 6.0 in each element
  • Pearson Academic (PTE) 70, with at least 55 in each element
  • Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE) grade C

Please note that some programmes may vary their requirements.

Fees and Funding

Tuition fees can range from: £10,000 – £27,000 please see individual programme fee information on our website. LUMS makes over £1.5 million in scholarships available to postgraduate students each year. Demand for our programmes is high and scholarships are given on a first-come first-served basis, so be sure to apply early.

In addition to your tuition fees, you will need to consider the cost of living. Living costs in Lancaster compare very favourably to those in other urban areas in the UK. We recommend that as a postgraduate student you have approximately £8,800 for the year to support yourselves but it will really depend on your circumstances, so be sure to take these into consideration.
