Entry requirements

You should have at least a 2:2 honours degree in a related subject or equivalent qualification or have an equivalent qualification in a related subject, or have equivalent experience or training, normally from within the work environment. The English language requirement for students from outside the EU is 6.0 with no skill below 5.5 (or equivalent).

Course content

Whether you work in a school, hospital, for a local authority or in another field where teaching is part of your role, this course will significantly develop your knowledge of current research, policy and practice in education.

You will examine the influences that have shaped modern education, from the philosophy behind teaching methods to government policies that direct educational practice across a variety of settings, both inside and outside the classroom. We will give you a strong grounding in these areas, allowing you to gain a greater understanding of how people learn and how to teach and assess effectively.
