Entry requirements

You should have at least a 2:2 honours degree in a related subject such as sports science, sport coaching, sport development, physical education or Qualified Teacher Status, or a 2:2 honours degree in a non-related subject supported by an aptitude for sport coaching, or have the equivalent experience or training, normally from within the work environment. The English language requirement for this course is IELTS 6.0 with no skill below 5.5 (or equivalent).

As increasing significance is attached to both achieving lifelong physical activity targets and improved progression of talented athletes through to elite status, the necessity for highly qualified coaches and coaching for children and talented performers has never been greater.

With an active passion for coaching, this course will allow you to focus on specific areas that interest you. You will be able to direct your learning towards your chosen coaching career goal from the very beginning, matching learning and assessment to the demands of your coaching.
