Students will be provided with hands-on training in various methodologies in studying English Language and Linguistics. They will also develop expertise in language variation and change both from synchronic and diachronic perspectives, language issues in multilingual societies, and wider issues relating to the global spread of the English language. A careful balance between theoretical and methodological inputs and their applications in actual linguistic analyses ensures that students experience a well-rounded approach to the study of language.
