Entry requirements

Normally a First Class or Upper Second Class Honours Degree in management, development studies, education, business, public administration or marketing or social science. Applications from students who do not hold a 1st or 2:1 Honours Degree (or equivalent) may be asked to demonstrate potential to achieve a Masters award via a sample of academic writing and interview before an offer is made.

The MA in Human Resource Management & Development is a 12 month programme that offers a career development opportunity to a wide variety of students – from recent graduates, who may not have human resource management and development background, to potential managers based in the UK or overseas.

The course provides you with a comprehensive understanding of the fundamental principles and techniques of managing and developing human resources in organisations. This programme enables you to develop competence, techniques and effectiveness in the field.

Human Resources Management and Development is crucial in meeting the challenges in international development, by adding value to economic activities, securing effective public services, and building capabilities within individuals, organisations and societies.

You will engage in a critical analysis of best practises and their application to globalisation and international development processes. The course examines the current international business environment and its diverse nature of social and economic challenges to the management and development of human resources.
