Course content

We aim to promote better health, particularly in less-developed tropical and sub-tropical countries via high-quality education, first-class research, and appropriate consultancy services. Extensively involved in national and international programmes to control tropical disease and develop effective health-care systems. Links with health ministries, universities and research institutions worldwide.

Department specialisms

DNA Probes for Identification of Parasite/ Insect Vectors; Transgenic Mosquitoes, Polymerase Chain Reaction and Leishmaniasis; Snake Bite Epidemiology in Brazil, Papua New Guinea and Nigeria.

Information for international students

Studies are performed in a number of countries including Malawi, Uganda (where the school has research facilities), Nigeria, India, Guatemala and Brazil. Excellent written & spoken English; minimum recent 6.5 IELTS score required.
