Taught course

Master of Business Administration Executive

London Metropolitan University · Guildhall School of Business and Law

Entry requirements

Acceptance depends on the quality of the application form. All applicants will attend a 'mutual selection and information' event prior to an offer being made. You will normally be operating in a management role with at least two years of relevant experience and possess at least a lower second-class UK Honours degree or equivalent. Although we normally expect this to be in a relevant area: business studies, economics, accounting, management science or a related degree, applicants with degrees outside these areas will be considered. In the absence of a degree applicants with substantial relevant professional experience will also be considered. Credit transfer is possible if there is evidence that the material covered in any module has been satisfactorily assessed to Masters level.

Course content

The MBA (Executive) is aimed at busy professionals looking to advance their careers. Based in Moorgate in the City of London the MBA(Executive) enables students to engage with research and practice-led contemporary knowledge and build their own managerial competencies to meet the future challenges in a dynamic global environment.

The course comprises three stages, each of which can be completed in one semester. This means that for students entering at the first stage the course can be completed in three semesters, equivalent to eighteen months. We recognise that many professionals do not have the time to engage with a traditional part-time MBA course of two years duration, so we offer a lean course supported by e-learning to shorten the duration without affecting the quality of provision.

The course provides a detailed understanding of contemporary management literature and theory, enabling you to interpret organisational situations and improve management practice. The Business School is based in Moorgate, in the financial epicentre that is the City of London, and you’ll be studying in an environment that encourages reflection on personal managerial development.

We have run a successful MBA programme for over 20 years and this year have made significant changes. The course is more focused and appropriate to the needs of aspiring senior managers in what is an increasingly challenging and competitive environment.

Our programme of study is innovative and leading-edge but at the same time fit for the needs of managers working in demanding roles in a range of contemporary organisational settings.

We appreciate that there are huge demands on your time and in developing a flexible programme, combining evening and weekend delivery supported by e-learning facilities, we are able to offer you the opportunity to study an MBA in as little as 18 months of part-time study.
