The entrance requirements are a second-class honours degree of a recognised university in science, social science, or other related subjects; or a degree in Medicine, Nursing or equivalent. Applicants with an appropriate technical qualification and work experience, or equivalent qualifications, are also welcome. Preference will be given to applicants with relevant work experience.
Months of entry
This stream provides students with a sound understanding of the theoretical and empirical basis of health promotion, to equip them with conceptual and practical skills to design and evaluate health promotion policies and programmes. Health promotion draws on ideas from Psychology; Sociology; Anthropology; Education; Epidemiology and other disciplines to elaborate an understanding of the ways in which the health of populations is maintained and strengthened. This is applied to the design, implementation and evaluation of effective actions to maintain and strengthen health.
