Months of entry
The first year of the programme (PGCE) involves full-time study for 36 weeks, which is partly delivered in the University and partly in partner secondary schools with trained teacher-mentors.
The PGCE programme meets the 'Requirements for Initial Teacher Training' and the 'Professional Standards for Qualified Teacher Status' set out by the Department for Children, Schools and Families and the Training and Development Agency (TDA) and is, therefore, recognised by the TDA as a route to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
