Entry requirements

You should have a good UK honours degree (minimum 2:2), or international/professional/academic equivalent, in any subject. We also welcome applications from candidates who may not have a degree but do have equivalent professional qualifications or significant, relevant management experience.

Overseas applicants will require IELTS with an overall score of 6.5 with no less than 5.5 in any category, or an equivalent accepted English qualification.

Course content

People are at the heart of Human Resources (HR). The field covers a wide range of areas – from recruitment and retention to wellbeing and resource management. At Manchester Met, we’ll prepare you for work in this exciting and fast-paced environment.

This programme is accredited by the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD). You’ll develop the skills you need to work across a variety of HR roles and gain a solid understanding of business operations to put your work into context.

On this course you’ll cover the essentials of HR, including people management, employment resourcing, legislation and business leadership. You can also choose optional units to tailor your studies to suit your career ambitions.

Professional recognition

The MSc or PgDip in HRM will give you full exemption for the CIPD’s Level 7 Advanced Diploma in HRM.
