Course content

Research projects are proposal driven and may be practice-led. While they may be self-contained, the emphasis is on research training. Projects are generally designed to test appropriate methods and theories in the chosen area of study and may be work-based.

You will join a research community of over 50 researchers 45% of whose outputs are classified as 3*
and 4*.

You will have the benefit of regular tutorials with a supervisory team and associate membership of one of the MIRIAD Research Centres in Art, Architecture, Craft, Design, Media and Visual Culture.

You will be required to complete a thesis of 30,000 words or 10 - 15,000 words if the submission is accompanied by material in other than written form.

Generic and subject-specific research training is compulsory.
