Entry requirements

Applicants should possess either a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice following successful completion of the Legal Practice Course or a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice at the Bar following successful completion of either the Bar Vocational Course or the Bar Professional Training Course or equivalent professional legal qualification.

Course content

The LLM in Legal Practice distance learning course provides flexible study that allows you to deepen your knowledge of an area of the law directly related to practice.

By successfully completing a Research Methods unit and Dissertation or Research Project in an area of practical law chosen by you (subject to approval), this 'top-up' course allows you to use your existing Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice (LPC or BPTC/BVC) to obtain a full Masters degree.

Whether studying on the accelerated, part-time or distance-learning mode, the LLM in Legal Practice degree course provides flexible study which allows you to deepen your knowledge of an area of the Law directly related to practice.

Manchester Law School and Hong Kong University (School of Professional and Continuing Education) (HKU Space) have more than two decades of successful educational collaboration. Our 'LLM in Legal Practice – Hong Kong' mode is run as a distance learning programme for students in Hong Kong and our lecturers regularly fly out to deliver lectures, allowing for a two-way exchange of knowledge and best teaching practice.
