You’ll need a good UK honours degree – at least a 2:2 – or the international equivalent, in a computing-related subject. We might also consider your application if you a have a different kind of computing qualification, together with substantial experience in a programming-focused role.

Our MSc Project Management (Cyber Security) will give you combined technical and management skills to help you succeed in this rapidly changing sector.
You will learn to manage the process which aims to design, implement and manage computer-based systems security, using software and networking technologies. It’s one of our new project management courses – bringing vital management skills together with expertise in cyber security.
So you’ll start off studying the fundamental principles underlying the delivery of successful projects. From there, you’ll specialise in computer forensics, computer security and computer network security. You’ll look at the process and protocols used in secured systems, and explore both the technical and forensics aspects of implementing security management.
Our teaching staff are professionals with a wide range of industry experience, from programming to engineering, and digital forensics to aerospace. With their help you’ll become a specialist. You’ll be ready for a senior management role in an exciting field with opportunities in virtually every sector.
Strengthen your skill set by spending time in real-life situations, applying the skills you’ve learned throughout your academic studies in a practical industry environment. This course is available with an optional industrial placement year, giving students the chance to tailor their knowledge to suit a specific industry or skill set.
Learning things that can’t be taught or experienced in a classroom, you’ll gain hands-on experience and an inside knowledge of industrial practice. This is an excellent opportunity to put theory into practice and gain transferable workplace skills, providing a real boost to your CV when you graduate.

After finding a placement, your tutors will be on hand to ensure this is the right choice for you and your career aspirations, to make sure that you get the most from your time in industry.
