Course content

Since the global economic crash of 2008, the world of finance and investment has evolved considerably. With a solid framework of the crucial issues affecting the sector, this course is suited to those wishing to pursue a career in the finance world, working in areas such as investment banking, private equity or corporate financial management.

This contemporary course provides you with both a theoretical and practical point of view, from learning how to obtain and analyse information to assessing and evaluating financial products and investment projects. You will learn how to apply quantitative skills to the practice of financial investment and analysis, and receive training in how to undertake tasks such as security analysis, risk hedging, portfolio management, corporate financing decisions and performance evaluation.

Our academics, whose experience ranges from academic research to industry consultancy, encourage debate and the challenging of assumptions, allowing you to expand your analytical and problem-solving skills through the working of real life problems faced by the finance sector. You will discover how the operation of global capital markets and risk management techniques function and understand investment performance and analyse financial data.
