Entry requirements

A good undergraduate degree and a professional Chinese medicine and/or acupuncture qualification are essential for admission. All graduates who are qualified are eligible to study for the PGCert, PGDip or MSc. Practitioner degrees without a first degree in Chinese medicine or acupuncture may be admitted on the condition that they have relevant skillsand experience as demonstrated by membership of relevant professional bodies, which are the Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine UK , the Register of Chinese Herbal Medicine and the British Acupuncture Council.

The Masters in Chinese Medicine at Middlesex University in London is unique in the UK.

The course is unique in the UK and is aimed at existing practitioners and acupuncture or Traditional Chinese Medicine graduates, who understand the importance of continuous professional development and specialisation in their practice.

The course flexibility enables you to build on your professional skills and learning whilst allowing you to plan your course. You will be able to tailor the professional practice element to suit your needs and situation, choosing from clinical practice experience in China with our partner University, Beijing University of Chinese Medicine or in the UK with our training clinic and the satellite acupuncture clinics in major London hospitals.

You can also apply your learning in your own practice setting, as while you are on the course you will still be able to carry on your clinical practice.
