Course content

Ready to create a hit format like Strictly Come Dancing, The Apprentice or Gogglebox?

This innovative course is designed to fast-track you into the TV entertainment industry. We run our course like a production company – we are either in pre-production, shooting or in post-production – where you will be pitching, producing and directing your own TV show in our multi-camera 4K TV studio.

This intensely practical course focuses on major entertainment genres. You’ll be taught by top industry professionals on location and in our state-of-the-art studio, learning how to develop ideas, pitch, research, find locations, script and edit. You’ll work with, amongst others, floor managers, vision mixers, online editors, camera and lighting crew, to give you the full sense of being on a professional set.

You will begin the course developing an understanding of television history, before moving on to the future and the generation of new ideas, putting this into practice.

Couse Facilities

You will have unparalleled access to Industry-standard facilities throughout the course. The Sky 4K Television Studio is fully equipped with state-of-the-art UHD TV galleries with HDR monitoring, and can facilitate large-scale multi-camera, television productions. New LED-lighting has recently been installed to bring the stage to a full state-of-the-art level.

What You Will Study

You’ll learn to develop, script, direct and produce their own entertainment programmes either in the TV studio or on location – with all production costs met by the school.

You’ll experience the full production cycle from the conception of an idea right through planning, budgeting, shooting and post production, with specifically tailored modules taught by top television professionals. You will also get to pitch your entertainment idea to broadcasters, including Sky and the BBC.
