A 2:2 honours degree, or international equivalent, in a mechanical or mechanical related (eg automotive, aeronautical, design) engineering, maths, or physics discipline.
Months of entry
This course is intended for honours graduates (or an international equivalent) in mechanical or mechanical-related engineering (eg automotive, aeronautical or design), maths, physics or a related discipline.
All Sustainable Transport Engineering MSc students will undertake taught modules in the following core subjects:
- mechanical power transmission
- vehicle drives and dynamics
- human-systems integration
- energy sources and storage
- sustainable energy management
You then have the option to take further general engineering modules or rail transport modules. See the module page for more information.
Information for international students
12 month MSc: IELTS 6.5 overall (with a minimum of 5.5 in all sub-skills) 24 month MSc: IELTS 6.0 overall (with a minimum of 5.5 in all sub-skills) Or you may be accepted onto a Pre-sessional English Language course. You may need an ATAS (Academic Technology Approval Scheme) clearance certificate.
Pre-sessional English Course Requirements:
•6 week Pre-sessional entry: IELTS 6.0 overall (with a minimum of 5.5 in all sub-skills)
•10 week Pre-sessional entry: IELTS 5.5 overall (with a minimum of 5.0 in all sub-skills)
