Course content

.Through the Social Sciences MRes, you will complete an original social science research project of your choosing, so you can really explore what interests you.

The course will equip you with the research skills you need to produce a 25,000-word dissertation. You’ll be supervised by researchers who are widely published and currently working at the cutting edge of their field. In the 2008 Research Assessment Exercise, 80% of staff research within the Department of Social Sciences at Northumbria was recognised as ‘internationally excellent’, with some of it noted as ‘world-leading’

Information for international students

Students whose first language is not English must have an IELTS score of 6.5 with a minimum score in each component of 5.5. Pearson Academic score of 62 (or above) with a minimum score in each component of Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking of 51.
