Entry requirements

Candidates must normally possess an honours degree or a professional qualification, and have at least 3 years management experience. Exceptionally, candidates without these qualifications but who have significant work experience and can demonstrate the potential to meet the learning objectives of the programme, may also be admitted. .

Course content

Designed for those with 3 or more years work experience who wish to gain a postgraduate degree which integrates the business areas of leadership, management, sustainability, marketing, management accounting, supply chain management, human resource management, the knowledge economy, globalisation, strategic analysis and strategic planning.

The award also provides an opportunity for you to specialise further and choose a pathway by choosing some of our options modules such as Design and Innovation Strategy, Entrepreneurship, Public Sector Management and Governance, Legal Management or Creative and Cultural Industries and conduct the management investigation project in semester two.

Programme Structure and Content

The curriculum has been designed in consultation with a range of leading organisations, professional bodies and addresses international and national business school standards such as AMBA, EFMD, EQUIS and AACSB.

Induction and Academic Skills Development

Alongside a welcome to Newcastle and the North East of England, with a range of cultural visits, we will begin your programme of study with us with a one week induction where you will learn about the university, the programme, meet the team, meet your fellow learners and learn more about the modules and assessments and gain a detailed introduction to the learning resources and support available.

We will also spend time developing your academic and language skills such as report writing, referencing, and making best use of academic learning materials and critical review. This academic development will, however, continue throughout your studies with us to ensure you have every opportunity of performing to the very highest standard.

Information for international students

Students whose first language is not English must have an IELTS score of 6.5 with a minimum score in each component of 5.5. Pearson Academic score of 62 (or above) with a minimum score in each component of Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking of 51
