A good UK honours degree (minimum 2.1) in a relevant discipline. IELTS 6.5 required by applicants whose first language is not English. An MA in a relevant discipline can also be helpful in some areas.

Course content

There are several members of staff with a range of specialisms. A growing community of postgraduate researchers exists, supervised by members of the English team, who are all active publishing researchers. Compulsory research practice course.

Renaissance Studies; Romanticism; Creative/Craft of Writing; American Literature; Women's Writing; Literature and Culture; Gender and Sexuality; Critical Theory; Recovery Research.
