Course content

The Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA) is the leading accountancy body for all public sector organisations including Central and Local Governments, the National Health Service, and the charitable sector and an important qualification for public service finance managers.

The CIPFA professional qualification has been designed in three stages; Certificate, Diploma and Strategic Level. This course helps prepare you for the examinations and is flexible allowing you to complete each stage at your own convenience.

On completion of these levels and submitting your Practical Experience Portfolio (PEP), you gain the Professional Qualification, full membership to CIPFA and the right to use the globally respected 'Chartered Public Finance Accountant' (CPFA) designation.

CIPFA is suitable for those with a range of qualifications – whatever your subject. If you hold a degree in finance or accountancy, you may be granted exemptions.

The CIPFA is a member of the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC).

Nottingham Business School is an accredited provider of CIPFA training and has an excellent reputation for preparing candidates for the Institute's exams. This is reflected in the high pass rates achieved and the number of prize winners in recent years.
