Entry requirements

You will need a 2.2 honours degree minimum (or equivalent) UK honours degree, or equivalent, in a subject unrelated, or partially related, to real estate and construction. We welcome mature applicants with non-standard qualifications and relevant work experience. These will be considered on an individual basis.

Course content

Our MSc Property Development and Planning course equips you with expert knowledge of town and country planning from a developer’s perspective.

The course prepares you to oversee and manage vital parts of the process involved in property development: site identification, analysis, planning, design, viability, marketing and finance, through to leading to the delivery of a development scheme.

You'll take on applied projects, attend site visits and hear from visiting industry experts. Progress on this course will provide a thorough understanding of construction, development processes, real estate economics, valuation, appraisal, heritage and conservation and law applied to surveyors.

Who is this course designed for?

This course is aimed at professionals and graduates wishing to pursue a career in the property and construction industries and professions, on route to Chartered Surveyor status. It's suitable for students who don't necessarily have a background in property or construction as it acts a fast-track conversion course for those with an unrelated undergraduate degree (or professional qualification) to obtain an accredited route into the industry.

In addition, this course is suitable for property and construction professionals working in industry, who wish to specialise in planning and development.
