Course content

The Philosophy discipline welcomes applications for graduate work in political philosophy; in particular, just war theory. The department is currently host to the Heritage in War Project; a three year, AHRC-funded project run jointly with the Stockholm Centre for Ethics in War and Peace. Successful applicants would have the chance to contribute to this project, which includes partners from all over the world.

Research and research students are at the heart of the discipline. In joining us, you would join a lively and friendly graduate community. The discipline hosts papers by visiting speakers throughout the year, and an annual graduate conference at which students give papers on their work in progress.

Please consult the Philosophy discipline website for details of applications for funded PhD places under the Consortium for the Humanities and the Arts Southeast England (CHASE) scheme. We will also consider applications outside this scheme. Details of how to apply can be found on the website.
