We are pleased to be working in partnership with a number of teaching school alliances and independent schools on the new government led initiative that puts schools and trainees at the heart of the teacher training process, School Direct.
Some School Direct places are “salaried”. For full details please visit the Department of Education website www.education.gov.uk (just follow the ‘Get into Teaching’ link in the middle of the page). You will also find a list of our partnership schools and how to apply under the Key Information tab.

Fees and funding
If you are changing career and are a graduate with three or more years' experience of working life, then you can apply to the School Direct Training Programme (salaried). You will receive a salary on the unqualified teachers scale and the school that selects you will have a job in mind just for you.
All other graduates will be able to apply to the School Direct Training Programme, and could be eligible for a big tax-free bursary of up to £30,000. Bursaries are dependent on the subject you want to teach and the degree class that you hold.
There will be one single application system for School Direct places in 2016/17 through UCAS. You will be able to apply to lead schools and search for places by School Direct strand, school name, subject, phase or location.
