Entry requirements

Normally applicants must have gained a 2:1 or above in a relevant first degree, such as Sport and Exercise, Psychology, Psychology or Sport and Exercise Science. However, all applications will be reviewed on an individual basis.

Course content

Through this programme you will gain a comprehensive understanding of the research interests at the cutting edge of sport and exercise psychology. You will learn the core aspects of practising sport and exercise psychology as well as the considerations for training and developing sport and exercise psychology practitioners. A core aspect of this programme is the practical application of subject knowledge that underpins all modules.

The MSc in Sport and Exercise Psychology is designed to support people interested in pursuing a career in sport and exercise psychology through the British Psychological Society (subject to accreditation) and the British Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences, however it is suitable for people interested in sport and exercise psychology who have different career ambitions.
The programme hosts a variety of modules specific to both applied and academic development and interests including psychological skills and therapeutic skills in sport and exercise; contemporary interests in sport and exercise psychology; and professional development in sport and exercise psychology. There will be opportunities for students to work with qualified sport and exercise psychologists with a wealth of practitioner experience.
