Course content

There is increased focus on evidence based learning around the world. This has led to unprecedented career prospects in the field of educational research. The MSc in Quantitative Methods and Statistical Analysis in Educational Research will equip students with the advanced knowledge and skills required to take a lead role in this growing agenda.

The programme is delivered by some of the world leading academics in running randomised controlled trials in education. This will allow staff to draw examples from real life research experiences and projects to share with students. Students will be part of a vibrant research centre, the Centre for Effective Education, and there will be opportunities for internships to become actively involved in ongoing research projects.

This MSc programme should be of primary interest to those wishing to go on to study for a PhD in education as well as to policy makers and advisers within local authorities, government departments and education bodies.

This new, distinctive programme is linked to the Centre for Effective Education, which has built up an international reputation over the past few years in the conduct of high quality quantitatively-focused educational evaluations, in particular using randomised control trial designs.
