Course content

Programme Content

The programme is structured around two 'core' modules dealing with critical concepts and research approaches, a 60-credit dissertation (for MA students) and four thematic modules.

Semester 1
Compulsory modules (20 credits each):
Critical Human Geographies
Social Geographies of Segregation
Utopian Geographies

Semester 2
Three compulsory modules (20 credits each) are taken in Semester 2:
Methods and Research Design
Nature, Landscape and Power
Worlds of Mapping

Semester 3
In Semester 3, over a 12-week, period students are required to undertake independent research in the form of a dissertation.
