Research Strategies:

The Centre for Infection and Immunity is an
exciting new initiative within the School to
develop high-quality research programmes
to investigate diseases caused by viruses and
bacteria and study the host immune response
to these infections.
Groups specialising in Molecular Virology
and Bacteriology, Microbial Pathogenesis,
Immunology and Respiratory Medicine
have joined together to investigate a broad
range of severe or life-threatening infectious
diseases in man, including respiratory and
newly emerging virus infections as well as
infections caused by nosocomial and multiresistant
bacteria.
