Course content

There is an increasing need for a scientifically literate cadre of biomedical and medical/dental graduates equipped to undertake clinically relevant basic and clinical research and to translate the benefits of such research to improved treatments for patients. Translational Medicine is the crucial bridge that links research knowledge generated in the biosciences to the application of new strategies that improve delivery of 21st century healthcare. Queens University Belfast (QUB) has an international reputation in translational medicine, achieved through the recognised metrics of high impact peer review publications, significant international research funding, the generation of exploitable novel intellectual property and the establishment of successful spin-out companies. Recognising the need for the development of a cadre of appropriately qualified scientific and medical graduates, we are offering a research intensive, student oriented MRes Programme in Translational Medicine that will equip high quality candidates with the research rigour, the innovation culture and the leadership skills to be at the forefront of this translational revolution.
