Course content

This course is aimed at those who wish to further their academic studies in the area of exercise and Wellness Coaching in order to positively impact on the health and wellbeing of populations, where career opportunities are developing.

Wellness Coaching draws on coaching philosophies developed in performance sport, but is applied to populations with health and wellbeing needs. This is partnered with knowledge of exercise programming and delivery for these populations, and draws upon key elements of health psychology and health promotion.
This course aims to equip students to meet national health needs by providing them with relevant, up-to-date knowledge of the role of exercise for health and wellbeing, and the ability to effectively apply this knowledge through real-life work-related experiences and industry placements.
The course will also develop the Wellness Coaching skills, aimed at helping inactive individuals to overcome barriers to lifestyle change and maintain healthy behaviours.
