Entry requirements

For entry, applicants would normally have one of the following:

  • A graduate with a 2:2 undergraduate honours degree or its equivalent in Law, Business or Human Resource Management
  • A professional qualification in relevant subject discipline
  • Applicants with relevant work experience will be considered on a case by case basis

Those that are legally qualified have a slightly different Course content than those who are not. Legally qualified normally means those who are practising solicitors, advocates or barristers or have completed an LLB in the last 5 years. Those who have completed a British LLM or a Law BA may also be considered as legally qualified depending on the content of that course. This determination is within the discretion of the course leader.

Course content

Our LLM in Employment Law and Practice course is suitable for anyone across the globe working or interested in UK and EU employment law issues, legally qualified or not. The course provides in-depth current knowledge and skills in employment and labour law from a UK law perspective.

The course is delivered fully online (except for one optional module, which requires attendance at an on-campus workshop) and is the only online UK employment law LLM to give you an optional ADR route and the ability to apply for associate membership of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb). Alternatively, there are options in oil and gas law, and health and safety law.

It is designed to develop your core legal and professional skills to be an effective, highly functioning employment law specialist.
