Course content

Learn how to devise and facilitate co-design workshops that bring multiple voices together to solve problems, make decisions and transform your organisation.

The Co-Designing Innovation course is relevant to anyone that wants to better engage with the public, end users, customers, audiences, community groups or stakeholders in decision making, problem solving, product or service development.
Ultlising proven methods and tools from workshops delivered for Westminster Council, the V&A, Arts Catalyst and more, the structure includes:
  • co-ideation and co-creation exercises,
  • design sprints,
  • teamwork and project management,
  • performative and scenario-based final presentations in front of a panel of experts.

Course Philosophy

Collaborative thinking is the key to solving big problems. Working in teams, you will gain a holistic view of co-design by experiencing the ins and outs of effective design collaboration, as well as learning how to devise and facilitate successful co-design workshops within your own company or organisation.
Teaching Staff

This course is led by RCA Design Products graduate (2008), Designer and RCA guest lecturer Bahbak Hashemi-Nezhad. As a designer, Bahbak's practice spans the domestic and public realm – producing work ranging from neighbourhood plans and public spaces to recipes, games, images and objects.
