Entry requirements

You must be eligible for full Membership of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS). Applicants must be an MRCVS by the date the residency starts. You will also need to: Hold a veterinary degree which is registrable by the RCVS and provide certificate and transcripts; confirm you are a EU citizen or have the right to abode in the UK. Provide evidence of: Work you have undertaken in a veterinary practice; any postgraduate qualifications, with certificates; your experience of research; published any papers or conference presentations; previous visits to the RVC; completion of an internship programme or similar.

Course content

The residency is designed for a qualified veterinary graduate who wishes to gain more experience with exotic species. The residency lasts three years and starts in the first week of July each year; commencing with a short induction programme. The resident will be based at the Beaumont Sainsbury Animal Hospital - the RVC's teaching hospital at the Camden campus, London.

The residency will commence 2nd JULY 2018

Information for international students

You must be able to communicate clearly in English, both verbally and in writing. If English is not your first language you must take an IELTS test. We require 7.0 in IELTS with no element below 6.5.A certified copy of your test result must be submitted with your application.

As a Resident your academic fees will be paid by the department that you are working in.

You will also receive a tax-free stipend to cover your living expenses which will be paid monthly.
