Course content

The Institute for the Study of the Americas is a research institute co-ordinating work on the Americas. It has a very far-reaching seminar and conference programme, and publishes books and papers. It has a lively and growing doctoral programme.

Department specialisms

Comparative Latin American economic growth and social development; Political economy; Economic history of the Dominican Republic; Comparative Latin American economic growth and social development; Agrarian reforms in Latin America; The international political economy of hemispheric free trade.

Information for international students

All students whose first language is not English must be able to provide evidence that their written and spoken English language is adequate for postgraduate study. The University of London has been licensed to offer certificates to potential non-EU students under the UK Governments new immigration Points Based System.
