All applicants need GCSE in mathematics and English language at grade C or above or equivalent*. We consider applicants who are in the process of obtaining the relevant GCSEs. You must hold an honours degree (normally 2.2 or above) or equivalent, which includes substantial elements of business education study. As you will work with children, you are required to complete a declaration of criminal convictions and health forms. You must also successfully complete pre-entry tests in numeracy and literacy as designated by the National College for Teaching and Leadership. You must demonstrate commitment to working in education and teaching young people, have good subject knowledge in Business Education, be familiar with the structure of the UK education system and have the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. If English is not your first language you need an IELTS average score of 7.0 with at least 6.5 in all skills or a TOEFL score of 235 (Internet based). * GCSE mathematics and English equivalents are • 12 level 2 credits from an Access course • equivalency test from www.equivalencytesting.co.uk

Gain qualified teacher status (QTS) as a teacher of 14-19 business education with experience teaching Key Stages 4 and 5. Through study and teaching placements, you develop the skills, knowledge and experience needed to teach pupils with a range of abilities in both secondary school and college settings.
