Entry requirements

Normally a qualification at level 5 or higher preferably in health and social care, social science, education studies or sport studies. If English is not your first language you will need an IELTS 6.5 score with a minimum of 5.5 in all skills or equivalent. If your English language skill is currently below IELTS 6.5 or equivalent we recommend you consider a Sheffield Hallam University Pre-sessional English course which will enable you to achieve an equivalent English score. If you do not meet these requirements, please contact the course leader to discuss your individual circumstances as there may be some flexibility.

Course content

Get on the fast track to becoming fully qualified as a youth worker on a part-time course designed to meet the requirements set out by the National Youth Agency. You complete 592 hours of professional practice and if you are already employed in the sector then you may be able to take your main placement in your current workplace.
